I'm so sorry. We lost our favourite girl not so long ago, a little Old English Game Bantam. She was the sweetest thing. Why is it always our favourites?

Yeah. Massively bummed. I was going to try and breed her with Blackie. Plus, it's super hard to find splash Langshans in general. I'm really frustrated. It's easier to take losing a bird when there's an obvious problem and you're trying to give preventive care. It's annoying as **** when they die with no symptoms, nothing obviously wrong, and no warning. She came out this morning when I fed, and showed no signs of issues. Drives me bonkers because it makes me wonder what I did wrong to lose her.

Well,

Noticed one of my Lavender Ameracaunas being very listless in the yard this morning so I went and scooped her up. Lice! Grr! Time to go on the offensive. I've been spot checking random girls monthly since they free range in the yard and this is the first I've seen of them. I've already given everyone their first treatment of lice spray (and they're grumpy), so now it's time to clean the coops and spray them down too.

She's in the hospital cage inside with Gidget, they were both pretty heavily infested. Some electrolytes and a syringe full of sugar water to pep them up and they should be feeling better hopefully soon.

Here's a pic of our new adopted girl, whom the PO named "Olive Oil" I think she may actually be a Blue Copper Maran? Really hard to tell with her whole head picked bald and most of the rest of her covered in bluekote.

Boy, she does look beat up and her comb is so pale. Thank you @azurbanclucker for rescuing her and giving her a home. Blessings on you....
