Fortunately I don't really get much in the way of predators here. Only the occasional cat. There is a 7' fence all round my garden and it is totally enclosed. The small chicken wire fence at the front just keeps them off my part of the garden! They do jump it sometimes. I do have crows flying around and a magpie trying to get at my quails once. I'm going to address the perches when I replace the coops in spring/summer though.If your runs are not totally predator proof, you can't really count run space.
Minimum space is oft cited at 4sqft per bird in coop, 10sqft per bird in run,
so 14sqft per bird if run is pred proof and coop is always open,
and 12" of roost length per bird,
