Chicken math lol.
Here that went this way.
Several years of me asking for chickens and DH saying no.
Finally he caved. I wanted 6 BA. He did not want just black chickens. Came home with 2 each of EE, BA and California whites.
Time passes and I still want more BA. Efforts to get a few resulted in accidental roosters..... Had to rehome and they took the pullets with them. More efforts to get them resulted in a lot more chickens but still just the 2 BA. Some were in pens getting picked naked, cannot just leave them there. Some were from driving a hundred miles one way to find that even though we were assured there were BA there, not a one at all. Each time we came home with birds, just no BA.
Finally after 6 years I got lucky and now have a total of 6 BA.
That being said.......
Highest count of hens......42.
Current count......21 (6 are BA).
Hubby chose most of the others so those do not count.
1 is broody so does not count.
1 is a non layer bantam so does not count for both reasons = -2.
I get about 9 eggs a day so 9 are laying.
There are 7 nest boxes so that means there are only 7 chickens!
BUT.... I have only 3 water dishes!!! That means there can be only 3 chickens!
WAIT..... There are only 2 feeders!!! That takes the number down to 2 since 2 feeders means only 2 chickens!!!!
UM!!!! There was a -2 above so 2-2=0.

I need more chickens!!!!
