Mine started off as an emergency segregation spot for the Polish since poor Jennifer got picked on by her brood mates. It has become more permanent than intended.

Heck it is big enough that even if I don't keep chickens in it long term I can use the heavy plastic to make it into a greenhouse.
 
And now I hatched out a few Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and a few Chocolate Orpington and some Mille Fluer D'uccle, had to slide a few more Rhode Island Reds in with just a touch more Buff Orpingtons.... They all hatched, not one dud so I have just a little bit more math to figure lol

So now i am trading a couple of hens, 2 4 month olds, a 2 month old and a couple of chicks plus a dozen eggs for a dozen white Chantecler chicks. Good trade!
 
I got my order from McMurray's last Monday (29th). I really love the selection they sent - supposed to be blue, brown and white egg layers. It appears that I have several EE, Australorps, NHR, White Leghorns and some silver chicks with black patches - maybe a breed of EE? Not sure what they are. I also received a complimentary free chick and a free Polish chick. Not sure if it's a boy or a girl as it was straight run. All the others are supposed to be pullets, but we'll see. It was a total of 27 chicks. They are currently in my chicken tractor and are starting to climb up the stairs to the coop and are roosting in the run area on poles that are provided. They are growing so fast!
