Chicken math

I thought the same thing. My run is dirt/straw mix right now (live in the desert, so lots of sand around). The other day I used my kids beach sand sifter to fill up a dust bath I made, and they promptly ate it. All. Not one got a dust bath until the second time I filled it, and even then they are a bit of it first too. It was about 5 lbs of sand (a bit coarser really) and in two days it was gone. I did watch them all take dust baths after they were done chowing, funny to watch the pecking order in action

Lol. Its hard not to look. I was hoping when my chicks arrived it would help with the cravings to hide with my credit card and order more. No such luck!!

Haha! No! If anything, it makes it worse!

Of course eggs under a broody do not count since there is no telling if they will hatch and how many males there may be. The broody for that matter does not count right now since she is not laying.

Just how my math works lol.
