I hear chicks peeping, still in the shell under my latest broody. She's calling them to eat, it's so cute!

Added 4 Isbar chicks yesterday. Thats it for this year other than the eggs in the bator. Then thats it! Have to do some subtraction before the snow flies.

Getting 5 at the end of September. It will be my first batch. And me and my mom went to the feed store so I can price thing( and so she saw the chicks lol) any way she looked at the chicks and says if you do get the brooder going this week can we pick up some of this chicks. Lol let the chicken math begin

I spent all day securing the bottom of the fencing 150 x 150. Installed electric fence and a 250 watt security light. I also set up a live trap. Sooner or later the culprit will return.

Can you lock them up in a secure wooden coop at night?

Thanks ConPollos, Its not feasible for me to lock them up, they share their pen with 11 geese. Thats how I knew something was wrong at 4:30am,the geese allways meet me at the gate when I go to work. This morning they were hiding in the coop. Didn't come out till daylight.
