chicken may be sick

While feeding my flock this morning i noticed one of my new chickens was very weak and the other chickens are pecking at him. I also noticed one of my other chickens that i have had for a while is making a wierd sound(gurgling) like she has a cold.

Anyone had this happened? and if so what did you do?

Gurgling sounds like a respiratory ailment and probably needs medication, which I know very little about

Rooster looks really rundown. Loosing some feathers and his face looks reddish. Any advice? Is this just
Him aging?

You mention "new" birds - how long have you had these birds and did you go through quarantine before integrating them into your existing flock? It sounds like you may have brought a disease into the mix with the new arrivals and your other bird has contracted it.

Agreed. You probably brought in something to your flock. Mycoplasmosis is the main thing we usually see passed around, but also, Coryza is common. Both can be brought in with birds you think are healthy but are carriers of the disease and pass it to your birds. That is the purpose of quarantine--see my signature line for the link to a thread all about that.

You'd have to determine if it was a particular situation that caused pneumonia or they have something like mycoplasmosis (called MG), which is contagious and leaves the bird a permanent carrier. You can treat the symptoms, but the disease will always be there.
