Chicken Memory

Just curious how good is a chickens memory. Reason is we went on vacation for 8 days. There was plenty of water and food so our neighbors only really just checked on them late in the day or at night to just to get eggs. When we got back they seemed a little hesitant and even our rooster showed aggression, never has before. After a couple days they all seem back to normal.

Some animals get mad if you leave them - like my old cockatiel would hiss at us for 3 days if we went on vacation, then go back to normal. Chickens like routine and hate change.
