I want to share a video I made today, on treating my chickens northern fowl mites.
My chickens got northern fowl mite a month ago, took me some time to realize they're mites!
I tries diametious earth but it didn't work.
After a lot of exploration, I found Fluralaner can be effective on treating chicken mites, so I decided to buy some. But I can only get the 1L bottles of Exzolt in my country, while I would only need a few milliliters. It's financially not worth it.
So I researched and found Bravecto spot on for cats and dogs has the same chemical ingredients as Exzolt (founded this post from BYC: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/how-to-get-rid-of-mites-on-hens.1463120/page-2 ).
I got a near end-of-date Bravecto on discount (6 USD) for cat from second hand market (might be a lady who unfortunately lost her cat and doesn't need it anymore).
I gave it to my birds, it worked very well. So I made this video to tell people how I did it . The video is in 4K resolution, 27 minutes long, English is not my native language, so I speak a little bit slowly.
This is the 8th days after I gave them their first dose, the birds are alive, not symptoms I should be worried about, most of them are still laying eggs everyday. I think people who don't have access to Exzolt but have access to Bravecto might find this useful.
Lastly, the method used in the video is OFF LABEL USAGE, I'm not a vet, please only give your birds treatment after seeing a licensed vet!
