Buff Orpington and Barred Rock
Congrats on the upcoming chicks! What breeds are you getting?
My husband is still working on the coop..should be finished by this weekend or mid week next week. We didn't end up getting the chicks today, hopefully they'll be ready by next weekend. We are going to use a large tote box with pine shavings for the chicks..only about 8 probably, maybe 10. We have the feeder and waterer ready, as well as the heat lamp.Welcome to chicken land . The experience and advice here are priceless. Tell us about your brooder set up. How many chicks? Also do you have a coop already?
Oh good idea...thanks! I will update my info. It's also helpful to know what part of country you are in for weather problems , humidity , etc helps.
