Chicken "mutt" club!!!

Are you asking about Skipper? The penguin chick? She's a mix of Silkie, and I believe the small Speckled Sussex Bantam.
And Loretta was a small Dutch Bantam.

Oh, noo I was wondering about Loretta :) Silkies usually have near black eyes, but I love chickens with brown eyes! I will have to look up dutch bantam :) thank you!

Oh your welcome! Glad to help! I have a small yard so I love small breed chickens - I feel like for every 1 Rhone Island Red, you could own at least 4 Dutch Bantams or 5 Serama's, and when it comes to the lil' roosters the decibel level of crowing doesn't annoy the neighbors so much!

I know what you mean! I bought 3 Faverolles chicks a few months back, they're now 23 weeks and appear to be bantams (or very small LF). At first I was a little disappointed as I really wanted some big Favs, but at least if they're gonna stay small they can still jump on my shoulder and arm with ease. They take up much less space and also poo so much less hahaha! One of them is a bit bigger than the other two so that's okay as well, I still have a "sort of" big girl!

I'll have to keep an eye out for Dutch Bantams

No the size of the eggs don't bother me either, I just love huge fluffy chickens hahah! They confuse me as one is bigger than my silkie X and doesn't look very bantam sized, she still has a pale comb and doesn't appear close to laying. Where as the other two are much smaller, one has just started laying and the other isn't far off at all!

Me too! great roo.

Thank You! He's an awesome roo! I moved a new coop into his pen last night and I wish I would have had the video camera on me, he was soooo happy! He stood on the door bawking and bobbing his head up and down, I bent over looked him in the eye and asked "do you like your new coop?" He looked at me and said "PuurrRRrrrrrr"!

Hi all! Just recently I hatched 29 mutt/mixed chicks. 5 came from green eggs, 1 white and 23 brown! They should be laying by Spring!! They are all different colors but 1/2 of them are black on even has feathered legs!!
They are now 3 weeks old and healthy. I had 41 eggs and 29 hatched I only invested $3 into the eggs.

I love my Mutts :) So what are the colors on the eggs? Do they indicate something?

What sources I got them from, I got 4 from my hen, 17 from the ones that are yellow, and 20 from the blank unmarked ones
