This is our rescue mutt, Lillie. We were told that she was a wheaton ameracuana (sp) before we got her. Obviously not! She is most loosely an EE, but she has feathered legs, is super fluffy, and has a very small comb. Her egg is light brown with speckles. Any idea what might have made her? The feathers don't go to her feet, just her legs. she looks like she is wearing fluffy pants! It doesn't really matter to us, just curious.

Every time I think I have these guys figured out, some new feathers come in and I'm left guessing all over again... The only ones I'm sure of are Dos, who is 100% positively a mix of Gryffindor, our EE roo, and one of our Production Red hens, and Seis, who is a d'uccle/cochin banty mix.



Uno's proud tail feathers in this shot shed doubts on her pure cochin heritage.




Quatro's mother is Owlette, an EE hen... his father is anyone's guess.




Dos, an EE/production red mix, and an absolute darling.


Tres, in the background, is an orpington/EE mix, most likely. There is no doubt to her orpington mother, but a hint of silver to her feathers is the only clue to her dad.


Cinco first seemed to be a pure buff bantam cochin... His huge size, white feathering, and splashes of color on the tips of some of his feathers have left me completely baffled to his paternity. All that is certain is that his mother is a buff bantam cochin. Seis shares the same mother, but is 100% certainly the offspring of Spice, our bantam lavender d'uccle roo.

It may just be because I have orpingtons, but she looks like she's got some orping in her.
