Yes fibromeletic (may have misspelled that ) is dark skin / flesh

White cap did have a rumpless Gpa  but he didn't inherit it, I do not know if that gene can be carried and not shown though.  I have one in an older group a chicks that inherited tufts even though mom had none (or dad) Gpa had small ones.

I have a chick that was hatched rumpless this spring, and I don't have any others in my flock. So does that mean it is likely this particular one didn't develop properly? She did have quite a terrible time with pastey butt in the beginning, but she is a healthy and happy little thing now.

I don't know a whole lot about the rumples gene(s) but would suspect someone in your flock has some rumples ancestory.

My first thought was that it was deformed because the butt was so bad, every day! I have never had a chick with a pasty butt, but that little one I just could not keep clean. But after the first week it's system must have gotten in check finally, and one day when I went to check on the babies, it was dried up and fairly clean, by day 10 it seemed like a normal chick. Just no rear end!

Then I thought that maybe it was an old gene thrown out from one of the EEs that I have. Those were leghorn hens covered by an Ameracauna roo. (I ordered hatching eggs so I am not positive.)
