Hope
I came upon a newly hatched chicken who had peck wounds on either side of her head. She really didn't look good, but I isolated her and nursed her thinking she'd probably not survive. A week later she was doing much better, so I named her Hope. The name has 2 meanings; I Hope she survives, and I Hope she's a she! She's continuing to do well, and is the first Lavender Araucana that's hatched.
I will be getting a New Jersey Giant rooster the week of June 8th (as a chick) I have 3 names i cant decide on: "Blazer", "Oscar" or "Bruno". I know June is a long ways from now, but I'd really appreciate a vote of one of the 3 namesWhich ever name has the most votes before the week of June 8th....then that will be the roosters name. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I just got a dozen chicks, our family's first experience with chickens . Originally, the plan was for us to get 6-8 chicks. (Chicken math?) We have three each of buff orpingtons, black orpingtons, Rhode island red, and ameraucana. So far, only five have names. We have Bertha, Diane, Flossie, Ginger, and Raven.[/IMG][/IMG]![]()
I think it is important to get a sense of their character before deciding. I named all of mine early, then ended up changing most of them.
