Pics
I have 4 Barred Rocks:

Martha
Harriet
Edith
Frances

and 2 Buff Orpingtons:

Eliza
Lady Bird

I read on here somewhere that someone named their birds after first ladies and I loved the idea!

2 amber/white chicks - Elmo & Zoe
2 grey speckleds - Hannah & Montana
2 black babies - Naughty & Nice

Yes - a 3 year-old named the first 4 - how did you guess?

Actually the reason we decided to have chickens is that my 3 year old saw Hannah Montana the movie - and Hannah Montana had chickens -so we needed chickens.

Lucky for her we rent a place that had an old coop - all I had to do was spruce it up - I was raised around barred rocks and RIR - and loved em - so it was easy for her to convince mom we needed em.

All of our Black Sex Links are "Geraldine" and then there's the NH Red Rooster, Bob...because he says "bobobobobobobobobobobob" all the time, and there's "Sledgehammer" because she's tough, and then there's "Little Wing" b/c her wing went "gimpy" for a while but healed nicely and she's still "Little Wing."

There's one "Geraldine" that escapes from the pen during the day when we're at work, and when we get home, she's grazing lazily around the pen while the rest of the flock is watching her from within. She goes in and out of the pen at will, and she sometimes voluntarily reincarcerates herself if we bring treats into the penned area and she's missing out while the rest of the flock is happily eating.

Then there's "Elvis." He's a (to the best of our limited knowledge) a "white crested black Polish" something or other, and cute as a button. Right now, he's around 6 weeks old and he's wearing a permanent "sombrero" that's black and his feathers are increasingly white.

We have a new flock we've been brooding since Mid-March and they're ready now to tell us their names...we'll see.

I posted before, but we've gotten 2 new chicks. We are working off of a theme:

Barbie (barbecue)

Teri (teriyaki)

Those are the 2 older girls- we lost Buffy (buffalo) to internal laying. They were our first "set" of chickens.

Now we have Samantha, and Eleanor.

We affectionately refer to them as 'Sam 'n Ella'

My Two Buff Orpingtons are Petunia and Pansy; the Isa Brown is Iris (had another one named Rose, but she didn't make it); the Barred Rock is Lily; and the Americauna is Daisy.

I feel like a bad chicken owner - I haven't named even close to half of mine!

I have two RIR pullet babies named Rhodie and Rover
My two BO's both respond to Miss Buff - they're practically identical in appearance so I suppose it sticks.
I know one of my Silkies MUST be named Fonzie
the other two I will likely name Snow and Bushi (japanese term for samurai with a phonetic pun)
My little Self Blue D'uccle hen's name is Sky
One of my Ameraucanas I have named Henna, she's black and gold with very interesting patterns
My little red Cochin roo is named Coach - he runs around like an idiot like he's pacing a sideline

out of 40 or so chickens - that's it. I suppose I need to spend more time with them to see their personalities better, but none of the others really strike me much.

I have two BOs named Pot Pie and Chick Pea, a red sex link named Gertie, and a black sex link named Pork Chop. 4 different people named them and somehow we ended up with 3 "food" names and one human name. No clue how that happened, but I rather like it
