I slap a numbered leg band on them. As I watch them grow their names are usually based on their numbers and personalities. Big 10, little 32, nasty 23, Blackie 6. Greedy 40, Dummy 29. Fatty 42. Seems to work .

Silver Laced Wyandotte-- Foghorn Leghorn
Rhode Island White--Prissy
3 Black Sex-Links--Sara, Hannah & Nora
6 Red Sex-Links-- Henny Penny, Olivia, Opheila, Cinnamon, Bobbi Joe, & Spice
2 Americaunas-- Thelma & Louise

And we have 4 Americauna chicks and 1 Blue barred chick
we havent named yet!

I'm having a similar problem. We just picked up 8 Black Sexlinks and coming up with names there is hard as they are all very similar, so for now they have a group name of chickie babies.

We have 4 Red Sexlinks, one of them I name Lucy, cause she is kinda silly acting like Lucille Ball.

Two small bantams, 1 roo and 1 hen, they are always running from the others so We named them Bonnie and Clyde, always on the run. LOL.

snitzel - one of my 1st hens and the kids thought it was funny..
vegimite - she's black like it.
beaker - runs around like the muppet.
crackle - tiny hen, big laugh.
lace - looks laced.
broody - well named.
eckle - freckle, speckle, somethingeckle..
falcon - really did look like one as a chick.
abby - goth chick (NCIS anyone?)
emmy lou - needed a sweet somewhat old fashion name.
elly may - as above. They look the same just different colours.
nemo - hatched out of a cracked egg.
raven - black black, no green or blue or purple shine. Just black.
megs - as in ginger megs comic strips.
reba - coz she's a 'Survivor'
spots with grey legs - for descriptive purposes.
spots number 2 - also descriptive as they look very similar.
white heart - went from being just white hen to something a lil more affectionate.

I try not to name my young roo's unless im going to keep them. But my roo's are:
Maggie - was suppose to be a hen, it just stuck, is even refered to as a 'her'
peanut - was a nut coloured chick.
Pingu - use to look like a penguin.
Howie - has a powerful set of eyebrows, like our former prime minister mr howard.
Scratch aka Frankenroo - use to jump into ur hand and scratch around, he is such a hilarious mix we changed his name.
I use to also have
rocky, george, mystery and Igor but they found new homes.
Hope i didnt bore anyone lol

One of our RIR is a runt or the youngest, I say to my husband that she wears a single breasted coat. WE call her blondie because she is more golden then the others. The other ones are so simular that I just shoot out names like gurtie, mable, martha, But blondie does respond to her name. We have been giving them some corn and cobs after we eat them. They go nuts for it. I'll yell corn and they think they are all named corn.
