I'd like to hear what some of you name you name your birds. My grandson and named our two cinnamon queen rooster chicks yesterday, Col. Sanders and Popeye. Two BBBs are Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have a little hen named Roadrunner. All the other new ones will be named in time

I like the names!

Some of the names of my chickens include:
Smaug
Dominator
Azul
Sher Khan
My Precious
Black-eyed Susan (Susie for short)
Sedgewick (Sedgie)
Yosemite
Long-legs (also called Chapman or Secret, but the nick-name Long-legs has stuck)
Ellesar and Galadrial (both from Lord of the Rings)
My Fav (he was a faverolle)
Mr. Potter

And many others.

Mr. Dottie (was called Dottie or Saprano) eventually just became Sebbie (short for Sebright)

Smaug

Fred

Smaug looks like the "leader of the pack"!

He certainly was a very strong roo, though actually Ellesar was above him (that is a young picture of Ellesar, which is why he looks smaller).

Fred we lost before Smaug came alone, and we had to get rid of Sebbie because he was too aggressive (Sebrights as a whole seem like an aggressive breed. We had one mix hen that actually crowed! And she wasn't even the leader!). Smaug himself was below our top rooster, but he was raised like a son so he basically had all the breeding rights of a top rooster. Now that Smaug is gone (he was over-breeding the hens) our poor leader is learning it is harder to breed with hens at an old age then it was when he was young. And the poor hens too!

My top roo was a JC named "Okie" Bigalow Chickin Gigalo. He met his demise by a bobcat. As soon as another top dog comes along there wil be a #2. Hey, Top Dog is a pretty god name!
