I've taken care of chickens but never had a flock. Learning and designing for a small laying flock. Designing a coop and run to build with my carpenter. Learning from people with experience and reading whatever I can. Planning to locate the coop and run with controlled access to the fenced vegetable garden near the compost bins.

Thanks, everyone! I have to get through an infestation of Texas grasshoppers at the moment. However, we'll soldier on! I am seeking solutions other than flamenco dancing! I am thinking of Safer soap and diatomaceous earth. The coop design is dependent on construction material at hand but any advice is welcome!
