So i was the smart one that decided at 24 days incubation that i was going to open an egg because i just knew my chicken wasn't going to hatch. I didn't see any movement when candling, and the water float test very definitely indicated that my chicken was dead. So to try to learn what i could from the baby i made a hole into the air cell. Once i could see inside the egg i see movement and can tell the veins are pumping blood. My question? What do i do? I don't want this baby to die because of me. I have increased humidity even more and placed it back in the incubator. I know that i messed up and this is my first time hatching eggs so i know i have a lot to learn. Is there anyway for me to save this baby?

I'm sorry!
I think you are doing what you can. How much of the air cell did you open? Is the membrane drying out? Hopefully it will hatch o.k.

Do you have more eggs in the incubator or just the one?

There were other eggs in the incubator. I had opened the air cell pretty much all the way and through some emergency research got some sterile water and kept the membrane moist. Unfortunately i believe there were other issues with the poor baby and it didn't make it through the hatch. There appeared to be some purulent liquid inside the membrane with the baby.
