so I just got my first chicks in (26 of them--SO cute!)...and I'm already scheming hatching eggs....

I don't want bantams or any birds that fly (uncovered run/range, fencing only 4' high), so I'm thinking FRIZZLE!! Plus they're SO cute!

So, I am wondering a few things:

1. Is there such a thing as a clean-footed frizzle?

2. Are feather-footed frizzles' feet/legs hard to groom/handle/care for (any special care needed--no feather footed breeds here)?

3. How hard could it be to find naked neck frizzle hatching eggs? They look like Vegas showgirls--big poufy feathered skirt and feathered headdress!!

Thanks...I'll keep scheming while I wait to hear from the experts...

haha I just got my first frizzle chicks recently. I couldn't love them more. So cute, so soft, so lovely.

You could probably maybe find a non foot feathered frizzle. There are some out there.

But I have cochins, and Brahmas which are white with heavy foot feathering. And I never groom mine. They stay perfectly clean and nice looking. Mine are free range though. If they didn't stay in a mud pen they should be fine. If their pen is mostly mud, just put sand or rock in it. It helps a lot!
