Hello all! I'm Chris, I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and I'm taking my first big steps to raising some backyard egg-layers. Just built my coop and now looking for some girls to fill it!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New to owning chickens myself, but helped my father when he raised some meat birds

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
0, but hoping to get 3-4 soon

(3) What breeds do you have?
None yet, but looking for some docile egg layers like Orpingtons or Rocks

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Googling around for chicken advice

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Brewing beer, PC gaming, trying to keep up on Podcasts

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my fiance and our 4mo daughter, and our wonderfully needy cat Athena. I work in emissions testing for Cummins diesel, but got my degree in aeronautics.

I'm excited to be a part of this community and look forward to bombarding you all with questions as soon as I finally get some birds!
 
Howdy Chris:frow and welcome to BYC!

Funny, :laugot my degree in Marine Biology and work in the Environmental field, started out doing emission testing (stack testing). Now in Environmental consulting. Also, did emissions testing for Cummins competitor, Caterpillar!
