(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Very new. This is my first time owning chickens. I have always been a little afraid of them so I'm learning lots. We got our chicks about 5 weeks ago after my son's 2nd grade class hatched them from eggs.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We ended up taking two chicks home and also purchased a 3rd (thinking one of the two we had was going to go to another class-mate). We didn't want our chick to be lonely.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm not sure what breed the two are from his class (and really hoping they're not roos). The 3rd we purchased is a Speckled Sussex.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I'm an online research nut. I came across this website trying to learn as much as I can about raising chickens.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a jewelry designer and beauty consultant. I am into healthy eating and exercise and can't wait to raise healthy happy chickens.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with two boys (ages 6 and 8). We have one English Bulldog named Bochy and 3 toads that were caught on a camping trip 9 months ago.
