Hi everyone! New to chickens. I just wanted to tell everyone how much I appreciate all the info I collected from this site over the past few months. Because of you guys, I have learned what type of chickens, how to build a brooder, coop, run, and how to manage all the above. I have also chuckled at a few post. I wanted to share a few pics of what I have built and get some feedback. Also, I know they told me what kind of chickens I purchased, but I cant remember... If you guys want to ID a few of mine, that would be great. Once again, this site has been awesome and very helpful. Thank you very much. I am sure I will continue to learn things from here as time goes by.

Here are some pics I took today! The chicks will be 14 weeks this Sunday.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I can remember my grandma and pop having chickens and roos when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago. We have only had chickens for around 14 weeks.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We started off with 10, thinking we would end up with around 5. Two died very early and my wife wanted some that laid green or blue eggs. I bought two more that will lay those and we are still at 10.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I am not sure, and would love some help from you guys!

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching my kids learn responsibility while helping raising them.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My wife and I have three kids, so our hobbies include whatever the kids are into at the moment.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My wife and I have been married 16 years. We have three kids, 12 y/o son, 8 y/o daughter, and 4 y/o daughter. We have 10 chickens and 2 dogs at the moment. My wife is a teacher and I am a paramedic.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found you guys off a google search.

Hello, Mike, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I saw a White Leghorn or 2, a Gold Laced Wyandotte, a Columbian Wyandotte, possibly a Saphire Gem or 2, maybe a production red.

Thanks for checking out my chickens! One of them is a lot smaller than the other 9. I have wondered if a bantam got mixed in at birth? She looked the same size as the rest until about 7 weeks old.
