Hi,
I am fairly new to raising chickens. We own 10 acres in Northern VA where we keep our 3 horses, 1 dog, and 7 cats. I bought my flock as chicks at the local Tractor Supply 1 April 2017. I bought what I thought were all pullets. I have 4 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Black Australorps, and 3 ISA Browns. One of the Black Australorp appears to be a rooster. Surprise! He is more mature than the others and crows all the time so I'm pretty sure he is a rooster. I found out about BackYardChickens.com while doing research on chickens and looking for advice. Right now, I am having problems with one of my biggest Buffs beating up on the rest of the hens. Henry, the rooster, doesn't seem too concerned. Any advice on handling a bully hen is greatly appreciated! And I thought chickens were going to be fun and relatively easy. LOL
