Hello out there! My name is Angie, and I hail from Fairmont, WV, where me, my man, and my teenage son are starting a micro farm this season. Our garden is tilled, spinach is sowed, bunch of seedlings started indoors, and we just got our very first baby chicks a few days ago (the two little Black Australorps in my avatar pic). We have 8 more coming: a pair of Brahmas, pair of Araucanas, pair of Barred Plymouth Rocks, and a pair of Silver Laced Wyandottes. All are pullets that we plan to raise for egg laying.

I'm not a very join-y kind of person, but every time I have a chicken question for google, the Backyard Chicken forums pop up first. I've learned so much from this site already, and I'm going to have a hundred more questions, because I'm in the grips of chicken fever!

Hello and welcome to BYC

In a few month's time you will have fresh eggs daily and fresh veggies. Sounds good to me! Feel free to ask any questions you may have, we've all been new once. Enjoy the site!
