hi. i was out playing with my chickens (I'm 13) and i found one all fluffed up and with her tail down in a bunch of farmers friends (spiky weed) i got her out and she walked away find but after i found her under the tap letting the drips fall on her. when i touched her she was real hot (summer here) so i gave her a good wetting she didn't mine at all. i got her some water and now she wont stop drinking she doesn't want to eat or move. she one of the most nicest chickens i know and doesn't care if u pick her up but now she clucks like crazy and flaps. All the other 3 chickens are fine. after i found she had watery stool. she went to the vets recently cause of a maggot infected bite below her vent and Ive washed and sprayed the vent with betadine (antiseptic) for bout a week until it healed we are currently not eating their eggs. is she dehydrated or is it something more serious!?!?!

Ok, Isen't that a infection of the lungs. I suspected somthing like that so I listened to her breathing I didnt hear and wheezing or blockage I will see if she has improved by morning. I will keep an eye on her. We will be away for a week though but we have someone looking after them and I will inform her on whats happening. Is there anything I can do for her in the mean time? And is it somthing me and my family should be worry about health wise?
Thx so much for the reply!

Well, I just had one that had heat stress. I brought her into the house, and the next day she drank sooooo much water. So she may just be replenishing water. Mine drank so much water that she had a huge crop. But all is well now. You may want to give electrolytes since the water flushes them out.

Ok thx! She looks better to day but she still wants to drink. I will refill their water and keep it in a shady bit.
Thx again!
