One of my chickens hasn't gone up to roost for the past two nights. We are having to put her in. She has recently moulted and seems to have lost weight. About 5 years old, doent appear to be being bullied. Out and about all day pecking about. Any advise appreciated

Welcome to BYC. Usually when I see that in a hen, I look for a reproductive problem, or a crop problem (impacted or sour crop.) Sometimes one leads to another.

Is she lying around or separating her self? Is her tail held up or down? Has she been laying eggs recently?

First check her crop in her right upper chest to see if it is empty or full, firm, soft, or puffy like a balloon. Then feel of her lower belly between her legs to see if it is enlarged, spongy, or tight. What do her poops look like? Will she eat or drink for you?

Hi and welcome :frow
I agree with @Eggcessive check for crop and reproductive issues. I would also take a good look at her feet to make sure she has no cuts or scrapes on her feet, and also make sure there are no scales raised indicating scaly leg mites. If you wanted to post some photos we'd all be happy to take a look to see if we can pinpoint anything - pics of her legs and feet, top and bottom, and of the chicken's stance would be helpful :)

Is the roost high up, maybe she is finding it hard to jump?
If it is high try putting a lower one in or something for her to step on to jump up.
Sorry not made myself clear. She is staying down on the ground in the run and not going up the ramp to go to roosting area. Thanks

One thing that I left out was to check her skin under her vent and around her neck for any evidence of mites or lice crawling around. Also, if you have any Poultry NutriDrench I would give her a couple of drops. Electrolytes or SavAChick or Gatorade are also good. See if she will eat some cooked egg.

I have got her eating again and she is going up to roost and getting on the roost. Thanks for your advice. I will keep a close eye on her. Thank you
