My EE hen is not laying. Her comb is PALE. I have one other chicken who isnt laying, but the rest are. She isnt molting she is healthy, lots of rooms and sunshines and water and food. Why is her comb pale and why is she not laying?? I dont understand...she is lowest in pecking order but gets plenty to eat no bald spots doesnt get pecked unless someone wants her spot....she spends a lot of time on the perch not the ground like the others. What is wrong with her? Also I noticed a black spot on each side of her nose....dunno what it is. Maybe always there and not related but I dunno?

I bought her being told she was 1 yr 3 mos or so. She isnt molting and isnt broody, no change in weather. How can I determine her age by looking at her? She wasnt laying when I bought her but the guy said it was molt...however she isnt molting. :(

How long have you had her? Sometimes after a move, it takes them time to get back into the swing of laying. I've been reading about it because I just moved 8 of mine. Some say it can take 2-3 weeks, while they get accustomed to their new environment.

She had stopped laying because she was molting. It takes time for them to start laying again after a molt. Then she was rehomed, which is a whole new stress for her. She just needs some time to adjust. It might be close to a month or so before she feels comfortable enough to start laying again. As for the other girl that is laying despite molting and the move, some chickens are just more sensitive to stress than others.
