I have 9 girls 2 that just turned 6 months and the rest are a year and 10 months old. I have 8 girls laying as usual even with the weather changes, however one of my year and 10 month old girls hasn't started laying yet. She's a welsumer and one of my only dark layers so I know she hasn't laid yet. She has been acting sluggish, she eats and drinks fine with the others but likes to stay in the coop more often, I have calcium and oyster shells laid out at all time and have recent treated them all for fleas. She doesn't seem egg bound as she is always right there for treats and doesn't cry. Is she just a slow starter or is there something I can give her to help her start? Or is she lacking something? I've seen her puffed up more often then the others but not often and other then that she seems perfectly fine? Anything I should be looking for or giving her?

So, this chicken is nearly 2 years old (1 year 10 months old) and has never laid an egg? Or that she hasn't resumed laying after a molt?

If she's nearly 2 years old and hasn't ever laid an egg, there is likely an issue or she is unable to lay eggs.

Haha! no she just hasn't started laying again, sorry for not making that clear she lays beautiful eggs but hasn't laid since her molt. I'd say around November which is when the others molted as well. Her eggs are pretty noticable and her comb was getting really red but still no egg. I only have two dark layers and the rest are tan or blue. The other dark layer is a new French black copper maran so her eggs are darker and very tiny.

One of my Golden Comets (34 months old) started a molt last half of November and quit laying.
She finished molt middle of January and just started to lay last week. She has laid daily since.
So for her it was around a month after molt that she started to lay.
I do add light in the morning at 5 am.
So she's getting over 12 hours of light.
I you don't add light your hen may take longer to Start laying again. 20190207_090007.jpg . Her egg is the brown one on the right. GC

Check her pelvic points.
Wellies are not always prolific layers.
Do you use supplemental lighting?
Do you free range?

I hope she starts laying soon last year she was one of my best layers! She just hasn't been acting like herself. I usually let them free range but with the snow we've been getting I haven't been letting them. This being said the free ranging area is large but fenced in and no place for them to really hide (still working on that) I don't supplement light but the other 8 hens are still laying. I'm more just worried she's sick. Her vent looks like she should be laying but she's definitely not :(

I think she’s just not “there” yet.
Her comb is still a little small and not quite as plump and vibrant red as they get when they resume laying.

My wellsummers eggs aren’t nearly as dark as yours (you’re lucky) but they just resumed laying late last week, and aren’t up to dailies yet.
...Still firing up their engines I think!
I live in the southeast, where the days are a little warmer and it’s lighter a little longer too.
