Thank you. I live in Fl and called but I had to leave a message. I will keep the number in case he others come down with it too. If they do and we lose them all I don't know if I will want to raise chickens anymore

Mareks disease may affect your other chickens, but if that is what killed your hen, they have all been exposed. They may or may not get it, but in most cases a certain percentage may. There is no danger to you or your family. In the future, any chicks that you get on your property should get the vaccine. It only cost $1 or less usually. I'm sorry for your loss.

Shortly after we removed her from the flock, she died. My husband put her in a crate and she lied on her side. When he told me this I knew it wouldn't be long. Just yesterday she was walking eating drinking.... Even though I knew something was up she was still acting like a chicken, then today it just got ahold of her so severely. I am just praying no others are affected.
