Chicken not taking to the cold? Need advice.

As far as the chickens not wanting to go out in the cold, and especially the snow, that's normal.

Your lethargic hen is NOT normal!
Can you check her crop to see if she eats at all when you are not watching? The best time to check is right before or when they roost. They like to go to bed with a full meal, so to speak.
If she doesn't seem to be eating or drinking and does not have much in her crop, something is wrong with her.

I don't think it's the cold-- chickens are much better in the cold than we give them credit for. However, if she was already sick or carrying something, the cold can be a stress on her body that pushed her over the edge from being "okay" to being "sick".

Do you have a postal or kitchen scale? Weighing her can help you see if she is dropping weight.
Chickens need to eat reasonably well when it is cold to keep their body temperature up. This is a bad time for her to go off of her food.
You may need to bring her indoors-- just remember, that if she ends up being okay, moving her in and out form heat to cold can be stressful on her immune system, so try to do this as little as possible.

If she is not eating/drinking and appears tired all the time, something is very wrong. Do not wait days for her to start eating,it may be too late. Check her for crop issues. How old is she? Is the cold affecting her, does she appear cold(some birds do not handle the cold very well, depends on breed,if they are ill, etc)  Bring her inside, warm her up and monitor her condition, try and get some fluids into her, chickens become dehydrated very fast. NEVER leave a bird that is not eating/drinking,this always indicates there is a problem.

As for the rest of the birds not wanting to out in the cold, this is normal.

Well she ate today, she seemed more like her ussual self. This is her first winter, she may just be adjusting. She doesn't seem cold just a bit different. She seemed much better today.
