Susan always has yolk on her feathersMy hens have a habit of kicking every last bit of nesting material out of their nest boxes and then accidentally breaking their eggs under themselves lol

Now here come the egg song.......it is pass midday already and my garden has been noisy since 6am this morning..........I wish that my hens would not ALL TOGETHER scream so loud before they poop their eggs. Spring is here and they all return to egg laying and the noise is just simply unbearable......my sick rooster inside the house is stressing out as well, he stopped eating and crow and crow his sick lung out.
Really...buying egg is so much better and this stressful.
SAME! & I constantly read of how "chickens will eat anything", " my chickens just LOVE ____fill in the blank__."Yes! And we don't refill the feeder until they clean up the mess. They get mad! And we have tried so many different feeders. Trying to minimize the waste. None work with my girls. Entitled much?![]()
Now, mine WILL eat just about anything. The birds in the Gen Pop flock in the back. They are my garbage disposals. my Fab Four front flock are seriously picky. They will only eat certain things and in small amounts. They all are pellet flingers. Someone above said that their birds get pellets, so the birds don't fling them everywhere because the pellets are all the same. Riiiiiiiiiight. Must be nice! I also feed just pellets. I think mine are just hoping for something better at the bottom?? ALL my chickens do this. Even my tiny house birds. They get snacks in little ramikens, never in their food dishes. Yet, I hear screaming at 0745 because they've somehow scooped their mash out of the dish and onto the floor. I scooped the feed back in the dish, and they are perfectly content. I kid you not. My flocks are of vastly different breeds and ages.the front don't mingle with the back, and the inside doesn't mingle with either outside flocks. Yet, they are ALL the same in food behavior. Brats! Every single one. I love them all, so I put up with their shenanigans.SAME! & I constantly read of how "chickens will eat anything", " my chickens just LOVE ____fill in the blank__."
But nope, not mine! I toss stuff out for them & if it's not blueberries, mealworms, or sometimes rolled oats, they look at me like I've lost my mind. Weeza then goes to squawking to make sure I am keenly aware of her disapproval & the rest disgustingly walk away.ENTITLED INDEED!
