Thanks for the feedback I received earlier this week regarding our sick chicken. It seems she had salpingitis (lash egg followed by series of not right poos). Flock is getting preventive treatment with Corid and she has been quarantined from the rest - chicken tractor by day and roosting in a box in our closed off shower by night (followed by bleach in AM to shower - tractor is not predator proof with skirting like coop).

She is eating and drinking quite well and poops are trying to normalize, it appears. I had to clean her hiney this evening and holding her, it does seem like she is skinnier. She's also quite feisty again and is making regular noises again. I do wish I had thought to weigh her a few days ago when this started.

Should we stay the course or is should I add more cooked egg or yogurt to her diet for increased protein or alternate feed from layer feed? (Also, no eggs in this time frame and I don't think she's been laying very many before this either because we were usually short one egg)

Hi there.
You do know that Corid will do nothing for lash egg laying, right?
It only treats Coccidiosis.

You could pick up a bag of grower feed, it's higher in protein.
Yes, I do know that. In previous thread mentioned that before I narrowed it down, TS recommended Corid for possible coccidiosis. Failed to mention again in this thread.

I'll pick up a small bag of grower feed. Thanks!
