Chicken on the run

I wasn't thinking. If there's not a roo, you can't have chicks. But I've heard that they will still go broody sometimes without a roo. Won't do no good as far as hatching chicks though with no roo.Thank you rebra.

Lol I didnt even notice the picture but yeah that's a roo. Mine did this and we for sure didn't have a roo.

Yes hens will still go broody even if there isn't a rooster in the flock, but obviously there is in his case..

It just seemed strange to me that the original poster was talking about a hen going missing but posted a photo featuring a cockerel.... and it occurred to me that they might not realise they had a rooster ..... and if that is the chicken that is going missing then obviously a cockerel is not going to be broody.
