I have a chicken that sounds like a duck. Do you think there is one in the wood pile someplace. I don't have any. Anybody miss a duck a few mnths back?

If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck.......

Maybe its voice is changing, going through puberty or something. lol

First time I heard it I thought somebody had put a duck in my garage. That is whre they go when it is hot.

If I didn't know better, I'd expect a few little "chicklings" around my place. John the duck, despite his 4 ladies, seems intent on mating with the younger chickens in the yard. He's very fussy, too. Only chooses the purebreds!

Oh, and on the same topic, another flock I expect to see soon will be feathered rocks (not Barred Rocks). My Australorp has been broody for a couple of weeks now, sitting on 2 smooth stones.

Its very odd because nobody has ducks around here and their roo doesn't share either. I have a few others just like her but none of them quack. Maybe its a defect. I don't know but it sure gets ones attention to hear a quack out of a chicken.
