We are noticing more of this everyday too. Ours are 2 weeks old. The general breed "personality" descriptions are not always set in stone. I think it has alot to do with how often the chicks are held and interacted with. Each is an individual though. We have a small mixed group of white leghorn, BR, Australorp, black star, and EEs. There are 2 white leghorns, which are reported to be nervous and flighty. 1 of ours is super sweet and affectionate. The other one tolerates being held, but does not shy away. There are 5 EEs and all are a little different, 1 is like a little lap dog, 1 is really interested in exploring stuff, 1 is a little clown who likes to lay in my hand on her back and have her belly petted. The black star is the boss of the group, and really dislikes being handled (contrary to reports of this breed). The barred rock is a talker, she has advanced way quicker in the vocal dept and sounds more chickeny and less cheepy, she likes to be higher on roosts and dive bombs the others. The australorp jumps on my feet when I walk by her outside in the run. They are all neat though.
