I've been in a lot of pain with my arthritis flaring on a particularly busy day at work and then had to run errands, make dinner, and cope with some family issues.

When I put the girls to bed I was able to pick Popcorn up (she and one of the Brahmas sleep on the floor while the other girls roost), and found that petting a warm, soft, feathery chicken was the perfect de-stressing activity. Every bit as good as petting a cat. :)

although my favorite chicken typically resists vanquishing stress until post-capture

I have to get them in the dark. They're not cuddly by nature. But once successful picked up Popcorn seems to enjoy the petting. Not like Cordon, who grumbles and growls or Chipotle who struggles.

Oooo this makes my heart happy. Here’s my Brahma girl, Burrito, who is almost always down for some “snuggies.” She’s so sweet and calm. I love my girls ❤️
