I can't figure out what happened to my bantam, but I think two more are sick! My cream Legbar and wyandotte. I'm so sad!

We are getting a baby goat too, but my family is going to sell it at Fair for meat. It is our first (and hopefully last) meat animal. I don'the approve of it, especially since I have to take care of it!

@uzisuzuki , your pictures are buttiful! Are those Polish?

Thanks. :) They're Silver Sebright/Golden Laced Polish mixes.

I hope your chickens get better!

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get a video of my dog chasing my chickens. It's priceless. :lol: Also I'll see if I can get a video of peaches chasing her back! :lol: They are too funny!

More of the same from me. A snowstorm hit us pretty good on Tuesday, so everything got covered up in snow again & none of my birds will leave the dry straw hay of their pens or the barn. I'm curious to see if I can get any of my other birds to "pose" for me like these two do.

@chickens102403 , I am so sorry about your banties! I hope you find the source of what's making them sick. I almost lost one of my Cayuga ducks a few days ago to something neurological, and I still have no idea what caused it. Not only did Ebony seem blind, or unable to quack, but she acted like one of my cats after a seizure-shaky, out of it, and unable to control herself. I thought for sure I was going to lose her, but thanks to prayers, she made it through alright. The poor thing slept for a long time by some farm equipment in our yard after I let her out of the cage.

I think she might have had a little eye discharge.

@CherriesBrood , I hope you are able to capture that on film, because I'd love to see it! Nothing makes me laugh more than different species of animals interacting in that fashion. When our first barn cat died of similar symptoms to Ebony's, we got a Classic Tabby female (Marian) in his place, and our girls immediately put her in her place. I must say that the worst was Boo, my true Black Ameraucana. She would ruthlessly hunt Marian down, just to give her a nice peck on the head!

@Frindizzle , aren't they great?

@uzisuzuki , I think your Memnoch/Mercury/barn shots are stunning! There's nothing quite like chickens in a barn, since it screams country. I snapped this one of Jaylin, one of our Easter Eggers near the loft steps a few days ago, and the second of Angel, our White Rock. Of course, they aren't nearly as good as yours, but it's still fun to post them.

Please excuse Jaylin's poor appearance....she's going through a mini-molt.

Honestly, my secret weapon (other than 2 birds that will hold still and lots of practice with a dog that loves to ham it up for the camera) is the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone. I'm addicted to that app. I have wanted to change my phone type in the past, but since the app is only on iPhone I haven't.

I think yours look great! If you are interested in trying some "tricks" that I do, I wouldn't mind posting what the pictures look like with and without the filters on them.

Some assorted flock pictures:

I love that last shot. That look is classic.
