So I've read through the articles, and I saw some ideas I like and they like, such as dirt baths and hanging heads of cabbage.

But how do chickens like slides or tire swings? Anybody tried it yet?

I'm just thinking of ways I could repurpose some stuff I already have, like my daughter's old toddler slide or some old tires and rope.

I could see them liking a tire swing, just hang it high enough that it swings over their heads- more probably as a perch than an actual swing. I can’t say that I can see them using a slide, although the idea intrigues me and I’d love a video if they do .They’d certainly love to perch on it- they like to get up high, so anything that lets them go up, under, though will probably be popular. Have fun with it!

Old tires make good dirt bathing stations. Young chickens like swings, but older heavier ones not so much. They love to have things to climb on and perch or to relax on. I fill empty feed sacks with straw and my chickens love to lounge on them.

I agree that a bar swing won’t likely be terribly popular, but I think that I’d be tempted to try the tire if I had the stuff laying around and the space- especially laying flat so they could use it like a platform. I could see some of them enjoying it, especially when it’s warm from the sun on a cool day. I wouldn’t put it terribly high, just over their heads. A tire doesn’t move as freely as a bar swing... I’d say it’s worth a shot!

Sliding..I doubt it, chickens like stable footing.
But maybe set it up on edge?

They like stuff to get up onto or underneath or behind.
This is set up with chick hiding places,
and most is removed during snow season,
but click on pic and use arrows to see more.

I have a log swing in my chicken run and 2 of my pullets love to hop on it.
