CHICKEN POO EATERS!!!

My 1 year old springer spaniel follows the chickens around the field and moves them on so he can clear up. He also likes variety - as does my grump, - horse, sheep, cow it all seems to taste really good. And no, my dog does not lick my face - although he has a fascination with ears and has to be stopped!!

I've been reading about this stuff that

my mind! I'll have to tell my children about this when we get dogs - this'll teach'em not to allow doggie kisses near their faces

Lil Spanky, our black lab, doesn't eat poo, but she does follow the chicks around and "nose" their butts to send them to the coop, or just to keep track of them and count them. She treats them exactly the way dogs treat puppies, keeps an eye on them while they range the yard, and goes after them if they stray to far for her to see them well.

We have one dog who is allowed in the yard when the chickens are out and one that isn't. The one is in the yard with them follows them around waiting for them to leave him "treats". I'm sure he thinks we have chickens just to supplement his diet, lol.

I haven't noticed the chicken poo yet but I don't allow my dogs out when I have the girls free ranging. I think we've all seen that cartoon.

What my dogs love to eat are the hoof trimmings from the horses whenever the trimmer is here. They will actually squabble over pieces and eat them like they're milk bone treats.

In the winter they love frozen horse apples (poop)

Um, yeah, all three of mine are obsessed over chicken poo. Three pit bulls. I'm convinced that's why they don't actually give a care about the chickens themselves....why eat the actual chicken when they are like little walking pittie-candy dispensers?? EW.

Mine prefer to roll in their deer poo, though.
