Does anyone else have a wading pool for their chickens? When I first heard of it I thought it was absurd. I bought them a mister and they seemed to like that so I figured "what the hey", I'll give it a try. Bought a shallow bin from Big Lots for 3 bucks, put it in their run and put a couple of inches of water in it. The first couple of days they avoided it like the plague. When I went out this AM to give them their morning salad, one was in it and the others all gathered around checking her out. I've caught her in it three times already this morning. I hope they use it in the heat of the day to cool of a little... it's been just under triple digits for some time now.
