Hi,
We are new to chickens and have a weird question about my chickens poop. I've read through every book I have, but can't find the answer their. What is chicken poop supposed to look like? We have 15 week old Buff Orpington chickens and one who is either a Speckled Sussex or Russian Orloff. We never really noticed their poop before because their coop was being cleaned more often and they were younger, so I'm guessing smaller poop. Now we are doing the layering thing for winter and only doing this once a week and we noticed that our chickens are pooping something that looks a bit solid. It's brown on one side and a chalky white looking (almost powdery looking) on the other side.
Does this sound normal? I had ducks when I was younger and their poop was more watery and green. Are chickens supposed to have watery poop also?
