My second post on this site. So me and my dad built a new coop for my chickens, Penny and Ronald. The thing is, we kind of had to catch them, and so the chase began. We caught Penny in merely 5-10 minutes so I’m not too worried about her, but Ronald (our rooster), we had to chase him about 30-40 minutes before we finally caught him. I’m scared that he might be traumatized and scared of me. If he is, or if they both are, what should I do to gain back their trusts, if it’s even possible.

Treats help chickens to trust you, they might be cautious of you for a few days but I doubt they'd hold a grudge. if you only have one hen for your rooster I'd also highly suggest getting some more! :D
Oh my gosh thank god.

Oh my gosh thank god! I’ll do just that and I’ll try to get some more hens. Thank you!!

They will get over it.
Next time wait until dark and move them after they go to roost.
Easier and less traumatizing for everyone.
Darn! Yeah, definitely engraving that into my brain..

The power of treats is amazing.

the irony is that I like ducks way more than chickens, but my chickens approach me more for some reason. :S

I would grab a lawn chair and place it in my run to chill with the flock. You could always sit on a log in the run. Sprinkle a few treats by your feet. You could bring a book to read while you enjoy the clucks.

LOL.

Did you read my mind?

Also, since I move them to a new coop, should I confine them in there for a few days? I read somewhere that you should confine a chicken in their coop to get them used to it or something like that.
