Yes, you can shoot bobcats here! Even Mt. Lions...
We have enough boys around here, and 'gals for that matter that can shoot a gun, so I think if he comes back..he won't be leaving in a hurry!
I think we're going to set the trap tonight and bait it with the rooster he killed. Poor Squawk!
We already know there is a litter of kittens around. Last year a momma bobcat took out over 60 of my birds, and left me with 15...
Then I'm pretty sure she had litter of kittens, as we kept finding baby bobcats in the coop killing chickens. We shot one in the coop that was eating a chicken it had just killed, but we were never able to shoot the momma. I figure this bobcat I saw yesterday was either her, or another kitten out of her litter she had this year. UGH Now I'm not going to be able to let ANY of my chickens out!!
If our two stupid dogs were worth anything they'd be out there trying to protect my flocks, instead of hiding in the house when ever they see a gun come out... :rolleyes
Okay, on a lighter note I got my Cochins in from Maryland this morning!! WooHoo!! I got a Trio of Splash Cochins, and another Lavender Cochin hen. When I opened up the box that had the Lav hen and the Splash rooster in it I found a little eggs she'd layed.
I'll give you two guesses, where do you think it went?
I'm off to feed...
