I think my roo reads this forum....he has started to try and mount some of my small hens. The alpha roo takes exception to this activity and plucks him off like a bug. Pretty funny to watch, if you plug your ears....squawk!!!!

None of my younger cockerels have atempted to jump on the pullets yet, but it's coming..

I am a walking non sequitur.

The irony is I don't like chocolate. Haven't eaten it in years, but I have had this sig line on many forums... (And my Amazon tYmbur sings "What would you doooo-oooo for a Klondike Bar?" about 70 times a day) It has always fit me. My addictions are birds! My mother raised them when I was little and I started a few years ago with it myself. It's a hobby, it will never be a full time job, but it is one I really enjoy. I have recently started with poultry and have become hooked. I could watch my geese and chicken do stupid things all day. They make me smile. And in a world where so many now a days are losing there homes and jobs and have no reason to smile I feel really lucky, cause I smile a lot, and those dumb little feathered kids of mine are a big reason.

Thats too bad, Must be hard to cuddle with them. I'd be just like you though I'd couldn't be without my chickens ducks and my goose.

How far do you have to go to see them? didn't you say it's hard to find white silkies in Australia?

Its about 56mins, well there hard to find in my area, though there is a guy i know that breeds them, if i cant get a nice one from him, i will go else where.
as its going to be summer in a few months id rather get her in spring.
a lot of people here sell them un sexed, so its really hard to know what your getting, so its why i also ask them
smile.png

I'm also going to see if the local breeder that sells chickens at the local sunday market im my area does breed white ones, everyone i know that breeds them always ends up with white roos.
