So we've been dealing with our birds just barely being able to get up on the top rail of the chainlink section of our extended run. The t-post fence you see in the background has never been an issue because there's no bar for them to see to try and jump up on.

Anyhow here was our solution, hopefully.

The one closeup shows whats going on. Top rail cut to 12" attached to the fence with t-brackets meant for gates. Two 1/8" holes drilled in each piece with 17 gauge steel fence wire running through each piece. Topped off with plastic mesh tied to pall the posts, fence and wire.

I wish that electric netting came set up like that!

Some of my birds figured out that they could fly and they're out every day now -- including ones that figured out they could fly with clipped wings!

I hope this works. I'm ready to start shooting escapees.

After today it looks promising. Not a single one tried to jump. Thats a big development in our house.

Some of my birds are simply too good at flying. Even with clipped wings!

Nice job. Curious to see how it works out for you. We have one hen that gets up on the fence just because she is nosey. I have purchased the needed supplies to do this exact same thing, just haven’t had time to get it installed.
