Over the last few days I have been thinking of building a chicken processing table. Most fish cleaning tables have a couple of inches of clearance at the back of the tabletop and in front of the backslash so that you can flush fish entrails over the edge and into the water with a water hose and nozzle. I thought that I should add something like that to this table to make the processing of the chicken easier. So I installed a board on each side in front of the backsplash with a slight pitch downwards so that it will be easy to spray entrails down the path to the receiving bucket below. I'll drill small holes in the bottom and sides of the bucket so water can flow out. On the top I started those drain boards before pitching them downwards so that they are 3/4 inch above the top so that the marine starboard fits flush right up to the those drain boards. The bottom part of the chicken processing table is framed up for adding a shelf later (maybe tomorrow). After adding a few braces here and there, adding a shelf on the bottom and after securing the tabletop, (which arrives Tuesday), I will be finished.

Although I've been thinking about building this table over the last few days, I was almost able to finish everything today. It made for a fun Sunday. I'll post pictures of the finished product. Here it is up to now.....

Thanks, I will post pics when it is done. The tabletop comes in tomorrow and that will be easy to drop in and secure down. I will add silicon sealing in the gaps to protect the wood from water and rotting. I'm pretty pleased with the way this project is coming along.

I added the bracing and bottom shelf today and am waiting on the tabletop which is expected late tomorrow. I might install the top and do the silicon sealing just as soon as the tabletop comes in. Here is the pic from today....

I just use a pallet and a cutting board on an old turkey fryer base. What doesn't get rinsed off the pallet top when I'm through the fire ants obligingly pick off for me.
