He did not "make himself look like a hen". "He" is a pullet.

I think perhaps he was referring to a subordinate posture. We all can be mistaken from time to time. Thanks so much for your helpful insight. It’s a lucky chicken either way. Best wishes

I’m fairly sure it’s a cockerel I said the same thing when I first saw it yesterday and neighbor said it was with2 hens she just hatched eggs from hmm im uncertain now

ok everyone I think I’m wrong about the gender here because I put her on railing overlooking my flock and pen and she fell in pen was stressed a minute or two but has now joined the flock. She didn’t have to go through pecking order for some reason. Seems like every new breed I get there’s a learning curve all over again. She keeps puffing herself up like hens do after being mounted then she shakes it off. I’m going over to neighbors to trade a few of my birds for 1 of the roos she just bought so I can breed my to Ayam Cemani girls with him.
