ok then here's mine so far:

1. Keep the Turkeys alive to hatch chicks and grow at least 2 for my freezer & hopefuly more for friends and family . . . Maybe add one more hen??? (with luck, maybe enough to sell in 2012???)

2. Start selling hatching eggs from my meat bird project . . .

3. Start selling Idaho Royal hatching eggs and chicks, continue to increase flock.

5. carry out CX feed experiment on 100 birds in spring - sell excess birds; carry out second experiment in fall same thing.

6. add Quail or Ducks to menagerie; not sure which yet . . .

7. Find a bigger farm

Well, if I am able to buy the place I am renting, I hope to convert part of my garage into coops for egg birds and meaties. I also want to make it much less labor-intensive to feed them and care for them while I'm at it.

Also, I hope to raise enough money to buy a good plucker and scalder.

We raise dual purpose for meat. The goal, this year is to put at least 100 in our freezer. I have an incubation schedule set up so that i'm incubating every ten weeks. I expect to do more than that though.

This is more than two meals per week that we'll be producing ourselves. Pretty nice! If we can get our rabbit production going, we'll be producing more than half of our own meat. Can't wait!
