The chicken in question is a Langshan hen, roughly 3 years old and last weighed around 1.3 kg. She has been breathing with her mouth open/audibly, whimpering noises, and stretching neck out releasing large croak-like sounds. The latter two have been only recent, around 3 days, whereas the audible breathing can go as far back as a few months, where we thought nothing of it. No other chicken is experiencing this issue. There is no bleeding, injury, and she has been hiding a bit but not often, normally with 1-3 other chickens who are healthy. I believe this stemmed from a few months ago when she ate an earthworm live (possibly a carrier), because she did the same croaking behaviour but it was only for 10 minutes. I have been using a plastic syringe to give her water (and a bit of oil) because I think she has lost her appetite for water, and the oil to dislodge anything), as for food she happily eats it, but only seed, not something watered down like layer pellets or egg. I can't say I've seen her poo a lot, but two notable ones were a small solid one and a smaller runny one; no blood, however I have seen poo in the coop with a bit of red which may have been her. I've been comforting her and syringing feeding her diluted oil to dislodge anything stuck in her throat. I'm planning on trying a deworming product from a local store called KilVerm by Vetsense, I've tried contacting the afterhours vet (Sunday) but no response. Our bedding is changed every one-two months, however said chicken does not sleep in the bedding, for further notice, the bedding we use it mixed with mite powder for the separate issue of mites.

I've followed the pinned thread's guide for questions. I'm thinking it is a gapeworm issue but we're not entirely sure. Thank you for reading and please any sort of feedback comment it.

She's probably eaten thousands of earthworms without your knowledge, I wouldn't blame the one you witnessed for anything.
It's likely stridor, small debris in the airway.
What's her usual diet, including treats?

She (as well as everyone) usually have scratch mix (particularly sunflower seeds, wheat seeds, sorghum seeds, etc), layer pellets -whether whole or watered down, and anything else they forage. As treats, they've been given crickets and dried mealworms, however we haven't gotten those in a few months. Sometimes they eat eggs, whether they open their own, or we scramble it for them, but that is normally a treat.

Also update: the vet has been contacted and she thinks that yes it is gapeworm, and that we're seeing them first thing tomorrow morning.

The egg eating could be from unbalanced diet, all the seeds and scratch is bad for them in anything but minor amounts. Treats like that are for once or twice a week, a pinch per bird. what protein is their pellets?

They don't lay often, and when they do the egg eating is rare and normally done but just one of our chickens (not the sick one). What would you suggest is a good diet for them to have? Also I'm not sure what protein the pellets are, all I know is that they're supposed to help provide nutrients for egg laying
